Today's run:
Half Marathon Training Week Seven, Day One
2.86 miles/40:00
Today's post-run snack:
Sorry to all the boys reading this (that's hilarious, we all know that the only boy reading this is David, and he already knows all my gross things) - but sometimes I really hate having a menstrual cycle. Can't there be an on/off switch? So I can turn that nonsense on when I feel like having babies... and turn it off now, when even my mother tells me that I'm not ready for kids because I cried my eyes out yesterday when Bonnie lost another puppy tooth. And yes, I do realize that I'm crazy.
Today's run was pretty good... the one consistently great thing I can say about long runs is that they make short runs seem so gloriously easy. Just 20 minutes in, I realized it was about time to turn around and head home. That's just delightful. I was a little worried because I set my alarm for 6:30 am instead of 5:30 am, and when the alarm went off, I immediately worried that it was going to be too hot. Okay, so that's a lie... when the alarm went off, I actually immediately wondered why the hell my alarm was going off and then remembered that I decided I would be a runner. That was dumb. Luckily, when I crawled out of bed, I found that it was still pretty chilly. Oh hell yes. Fall, I know you are coming. Come faster.
Now I should probably try standing up. And doing HIIT 20. Because you know, it's not like my chest is still throbbing from yesterday's Power Training adventure. I didn't almost cry when I was moving my arms while I was running.
Does anyone want to bring me a baked potato for lunch? Preferably with lots of bacon? And about ten pounds of cheese, sour cream, and chives?
Please?
Hahaha short runs are the best!! And ice cream after short runs - even better!
